Outdoor Adaptive Education Program by Variety of Texas

Variety’s “Outdoor Adaptive Education” program serves PreK – 12th grade students, as well as students with special needs and disability-focused groups, with its opportunities for interactive learning through adventure at Peaceable Kingdom by Variety. The program’s customized (and adaptive) curriculum is designed to complement the classroom and inspire a passion for lifelong learning. The three core pillars of the “Outdoor Adaptive Education Program” learning curriculum focus on: environmental education, recreational therapy and life skills.

The program is specifically designed to address TEKS objectives (Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills), ensuring the full range of academic content aligns with the rigorous standards required in the classroom. Content is delivered through engaging and diverse activities with highly trained instructors. This kind of experiential learning and development has proven uniquely successful for all students – including those with special needs – by improving standardized test scores, encouraging academic success, and preparing them for more independent lives after graduation.
